The Cuale project has been built up from a very early-stage and was targeted on the basis of anomalous regional-scale stream sediment geochemistry and favourable geology. Subsequent exploration by Evrim has comprised more detailed stream sediment sampling and prospecting that has resulted in the discovery of a system bearing the hallmarks of a high-sulphidation epithermal gold-silver mineralization. Widespread argillic and advanced argillic alteration combined with anomalous multi-element rock, soil and stream sediment sampling have outlined an area of interest measuring 16 square kilometres hosting the La Gloria prospect which has never been drilled.
La Gloria Prospect
The La Gloria prospect comprises an area of texturally-destructive argillic and advanced argillic alteration surrounding quartz veining and stockworks and local pervasive silicification. The quartz veining associated with the pervasive silicification occurs over an area of at least 600 by 400 metres and contains specular hematite and significant gold grades:
- Rock chip sampling has defined a 500 metre by 250 metre zone of gold mineralization with all seven samples ranging from 0.19 to 4.56 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
- Contour soil sampling within the area defines a 400 metre by 140 metre zone of gold anomalism with all seven soil samples ranging from 0.13 g/t gold to 4.06 g/t gold.
The La Gloria prospect is also associated with multi-element soil geochemical anomalies that are open along a northeast strike. Soil sampling shows gold, silver, bismuth, molybdenum, lead, and antimony with depleted manganese and zinc occur together in the mineralized zone with elevated copper and arsenic occurring at lower elevations to the northeast.
